Tip of the Week
Situation I moved a patient from his parents’
account to his own account. Part of the balance on the parents’ account
($50.00) belongs to the patient in question. How do I move that portion of
the balance from the parents’ account to the patient’s account? Solution Post an adjustment on both
accounts, subtracting the amount from one account, and adding it to
the other account. 1. Post an
adjustment for “-50.00” (credit) to the parents’ account. 2. Post an
adjustment for “50.00” (debit) to the patient’s own account. Additional Info We suggest using the
adjustment type “transfer” when performing the above steps. If you don’t have
that adjustment type in your DAISY system, you can add it via List Maintenance, as follows: DAISY menu > Configure > List Maintenance >
Simple Lists (tab) > Adjustment Types (dropdown) > right-click > new
item > type “transfer” > save and close. It’s a good idea to put a
note on each account and/or transaction, cross-referencing the other account.
For example, add a comment to the credit adjustment on the parent’s account,
indicating the account that the balance is being transferred to. Do the same thing on the other
account, except indicate the account that the balance was transferred from. YOU ARE
